Joseph Knibb  No. 101

An important and very rare 17th century Charles II month going walnut longcase clock with fine gilt cherub spandrels and finely cut hands. The 9 1/2 inch dial signed to the base, Joseph Knibb, Londini, Fecit. The 30 day movement with latched dial and six latched pillars, anchor escapement and outside countwheel, striking, bolt and shutter maintaining power and butterfly regulated pendulum. The case with twist columns and a carved cresting to the rising hood.
