John Whitehurst No. 147 SOLD
A rare George II walnut barometer in the shape of a miniature longcase clock with a rich colour and holly stringing. The dial is brass, the centre matted and the chapter ring is slivered, the arch contains the maker's signature on a silvered plate. A recording dial is set on the trunk with a star inlay to the centre. The barometer was part of the collection of the laste Sir Harold Werner, BT, GCVO, Luton Hoo.
