A fine and important 17th century portable walnut table barometer with original feet, finials and gilt engraved case.
The silvered dial with indications of the weather engraved on two sides, the top with three finials two of which for setting the readings.
The barometer is unsigned but in the style of and possibly made by Dan Quare who invented and made portable barometers in the late 17th century.
