


George Etherington No. 298 SOLD
A fine and rare 17th century ebony veneered and gilt mounted bracket clock by this eminent maker who became Master of the Clockmakers Company in 1709.
The movement with verge escapement, pull quarter repeating, rise/fall regulation and seperate alarm train.
The rectanguar dial engraved with the makers signature between the four subsidiary dials for strike/silent, regulation and pendulum locking, the matted centre with alarm setting dial and apertures for calendar and false pendulum bob. The profusely foliate engraved backplkate signed to the centre in a cartouche.
