Dan Quare No. 59
An extremely rare and important late 17th century walnut and floral marquetry longcase clock by this famous maker. The elegant case with bird and flower marquetry decoration to the door, base and hood. The hood with walnut turned pillars with brass capitals and very fine fretwork to the hood and marquetry caddy top. The case with three brass ball finials and a brass moulded glass lenticle to the door. The month duration movement with a 12 inch dial with gilt Indian mark spandrels, raised silvered chapter ring, a matted centre with seconds dial and calendar aperture, fine original hands and signed by the maker.
